try adjusting the rubber bumpers on the rad support.
Did you install the hood spring?

Mine is like that too. Be sure to have the spring installed and to lube the lock mechanism well. That has worked pretty good so far. Some times when it has been sitting for a while it still takes a little tinkering. A light push on the hood right above the lock usually does the trick then.

If you have the spring in there it should just pop right up like stock. Mine does...it probably just needs to adjusted. Somethings binding up.

I wouldnt use the bumpers to put pressure on the hood. There just for support. Its just binding at the latch somewhere. If it was mine i wouldnt put pins on it either. dont remove the latch you need it.

The latch has two bolts that lets you adjust it up/down and side to side. Loosen those and move it around till there is no binding. Can you feel pressure from the spring when you push the hood down? Might need a new one. Or take that one off and pull it out till its a little taller.

If its adjusted right you should be able to keep all the factory bumpers. There what keeps it from moving around at speed. Just like stock.

I ended up using locking hood pins. The stock spring was too heavy and would actually push the hood up causing a gap on the left side.

This may sound obvious, but this was happening to my car's stock hood when I bought it. Thie guy I bought it from would 'just hit it' and the hood would pop up after pulling the release

I just used some WD-40 to lube up everything I could (cable, hinges, etc.) and it has worked fine ever since.
