Im wanting to change out the horn on my car for a much louder one, not a dixie or mexican one, just one that sounds factory but REALLY loud...
Where is my horn at under the hood/front of the car??
Is it a plug in kind of thing where I can just un-plug the old one and put in a new one, or does it require wiring???
Reason im asking, is that in traffic, people just dont seem to notice when I honk the horn, it's just not loud enough.

it's on the driver side behind the fender. you can probably see if you look in the opening behind the charcoal canister, or battery, whichever is on your driverside.

I've had some friends get some pretty good horns from autozone. nothing novelty and stupid. but good and loud.
I had the dixie horn in my truck...I loved that horn.

Ah Ha!
Found it earlier today.
So you say Autozone has loud stock sounding horns?
How exactly do I get to the horn???? Taking off the fender is a pretty good job to get to a horn, what about the wheel well above the tire?

Bro, you get to the horn through the engine bay

Put this sumbeech http://www.hornblasters.com/products/ in your camaro and I guarantee people will know when you lay on the horn. You need a compressor and tank but it is worth it. I already had this for my airbags so it was easy for me. It's fun to scare the snot out of your friends and relatives. Check out the videos on the web page, they are a riot.

Looks like I got quite a job on my hands.... Absolutely NO space near the horn.Originally Posted by 82 Iron Duke

If you open your hood and look towards the front of the car on the drivers side it is right there. It is secured by one or two fasteners, you can't miss it. It is easy to see and remove, look toward the front
BTW IIRC there are two horns.Supreme Member
don't make it harder than it has to be. it is totaly possible to get to it through that opening in the engine bay. each of the 2 horns should be held in place by 1 10mm bolt, and has one connection plugged into them.Member
is this location the same for a 92 trans am

One more recommendation for the compressor horn. My freind put on in his truck, and people definately knew he honked.
Id recommend wiring it up manually, so you can switch it ON or OFF from the inside. When you vary the pressure, you also vary the volume. Even at half pressure, it sounded loud. Cost him $110 to have it shipped to Canada.
