confirming part number for t-top trim
hey i need to replace the flange/lip/whatever its called on the edge of the t-top. its kind of like a drip rail and i know it has to be glued on. i had the parts guys at work look it up for me, but they got 2 part numbers, a 1st and 2nd design. the 1st design is part #10165500 2nd design is part #10165496. anyone know which part i need? i can get them for about $30 each. does anyone else sell them cheaper?

Re: confirming part number for t-top trim
1016 5500 is the actual weatherstrip (that the glass touches)
1019 8352 & 8353 is the seal strip (drip rail). The second design (plastic) has superseded the 1st design (rubber).
1016 5496 does not pull anything up (in stock) using trademotion (newgmparts.com). I will assume that is the first design p/n that is no longer available.

this is so interesting because the drivers side has the rubber style, and the passenger side has the hard plastic, which is cracked and torn. i'd rather have the rubber part as this car never sees rain, let alone the light of day

i can get 10198352 which is the passenger side here at work for $30.55 no shipping charges. how much is shipping from www.newgmparts.com? i have to set up an account to get a shipping quote. Even if its free, i wont get it from there, i can get it in two days here at work for the same price
just wondering in case i ever find a part from that site that happens to be cheaper than what i can get it for
is there a thread on how this strip is applied? i havent taken a close look at it yet. im assuming weatherstrip adhesive...

It's been too long for me to remember shipping prives but, I do know it's better then gmpartsdirect. IIRC, it's more straight shipping prices (size of box/weight=shipping costs+minor handling)
As far as application, install is listed in any given helms manual or, if you can wait a few days, I can get a scan of the install sheet (which I used to have uploaded in the other thread) that came with the t-top w/seal kit. I can tell you that the new 'awnings' use a double faced m moulding tape instead of the asphalt based windshield adhesive (ribbon seal) the rubber pieces used.

Re: confirming part number for t-top trim
Are those "drip rails" essential to the design of the t-top? On my car the passenger side one is falling off and on the drivers side it's half ripped off. I dont see any problems that would come up from just taking them off...
