Re: "Guessitmates" to repair?

Its a center hit and one, likely both quarters are crinkled

Thats a total right there

Now to fix it, youd have to cut the quarters loose and get a frame shop to pull it back

If your lucky you can reshape the quarters and weld em back with a lil bondo and never know it

More likely is youll need to replace the quarters on top of all the rear damaged parts

Id say +$1,500 just going by the pics, not counting possible suspension and other systems damage

Cheaper would be to buy a good roller or stripped V6 and swap EVERYTHING over

Re: "Guessitmates" to repair?

Way more than $1500.00 and if it's an insuarnce claim, it's definently totaled. By the pictures to repair it the right way:

2 new quarters
Frame time
New rear bumper
R&I Gas Door, R&I Both Doors, R&I Quarter and Door Moldings, R&I Hatch, R&I Ground Effects, Paint Rear Bumper, Both Quarters, Gas Door & Blend on both doors.

That's if a shop would do it the right way. If someone were good enough on the frame rack and good at body work, you may not have to replace both quarters, but at the shop I work at, we would replace them.

Re: "Guessitmates" to repair?

ah, dang it. i was hoping it would be alot cheaper. still, the guy is asking a very fair price for the z28, but i just don't have that kind of money right now to spend. i'll see if the guy will be okay with me posting his contact info on here incase one of y'all are interested.

he's asking $1,800 for the '92 z28. located in north carolina.

You can buy a nice driveable one for less than $1800

Offer him $500 or give him the finger

Re: "Guessitmates" to repair?

the guy drove the car 80 miles when he bought it a couple of weeks ago. he's also a pretty cool guy, and he is very forthcoming about all the problems with the vehicle. i think $1,800 is a very fair price for a '92 z28. he could get twice or three times more if he parted the car out.

Re: "Guessitmates" to repair?

No, thats about as much as youll get for parting it out

Including the scrap steel money from crushing it

$1800 is a ripoff I dont care how nice the guy was

You buy it and part it if you can make so much at it
