Re: paint scheme

i think red interior is kinda bold, it works well with black and white but not many other colors. i like the orange but i dont think the red interior is the best option. then again as long as the red interior is in good condition i think you can get away with it.

Re: paint scheme

Id say with a red interior, go black, white or red...

Anything other than that usually looks funny...

Re: paint scheme

I'd redo the interior, change the color, before I touched the paint.

I agree. If you have your heart set on the orange, you should think about changing the color of the interior also, maybe a black or a tan.

Re: paint scheme

I hear that the interior fabric paint holds up well unless it is very high traffic

it will work per say, but every time you vacuum you will get red streaks, ask me how i know this. plus the paint makes the carpet stiff, I did not like it. I'm personally just going to buy new carpet. if you are budgeting, at least find a different color carpet that will take to the paint better. The red just doesn't take too well

Re: paint scheme

I'm not much for red interiors, but if you have one it has to be nice and clean. I would agree with the others. If you are going with an orange car I would go with a gray or black interior.

Re: paint scheme

To be honest I dont think orange nd red would be that weird, really.

Arent those CAMARO CAMARO CAMARO seats orange, red, yellow and black?

It's not exactly a trendy matchup, but i'd say it'd fit with the whole 1984 thing. Just like that white 81 Z28 I saw once with the three shades of green striping and graphics and GREEN interior. Very dated looking, but very cool. Lots of character.

It would work in a Miami Vice kind of way. Up to you as to whether or not that's acceptable.

Re: paint scheme

What colour are your wheels?

Three things that have to match or compliment each other (IMO) are paint, wheels, and interior.

Orange likes white and black. White for sports car/slight luxury theme, black for nostalgic.

If you are going with chrome rims, and "sticking out" tires like that, its gonna be a very miss matched looking combo. But i think if you highlight some red on the exterior, it could work.

Maybe make the tail lights all red, have a red pinstripe somewhere on the wheels, maybe even an artistic red pinstripe somewhere on the car?

I dont think it will work, but you MIGHT be able to, if the interior is clean. I wouldnt recommend the paint, if it comes off with a vacuum cleaner, it'll prolly come off on your clothes too.

Re: paint scheme

sounds good jay,I previously owned an 87 IROC-Z,it was black with the custom red interior. By custom I mean (the carpeted interior panels from the factory)and had the silver IROC decals.I really wish I had pics of it to show ya,but yeah it worked together REAL nice!

and to you (online170) orange cars also like camel tan interior.
