Grill mod and recent pics of my black Z....
Our Houston area 3rdgen meet was this weekend. Here is a pic of my car at the show and a pic of my grill mod. I used stainless steel square mesh, like what is used on the front of a C5 Z06.
Anywho enjoy!

You got a little leaf or something there in the driver's side.

Looks good... and we know it's functional.

Quick question... How did you attach the mesh to the grill itself?

I molded the screens arround the opening's in the grill first. Then I used two-part epoxy just to tack the corners. Once it set up, I wrapped the surround with black duct tape just so the wire mesh wouldn't scratch the paint while installing the grill.

It doesn't do justice to that beautiful car of yours, IMHO it looks awful, it reminds me of an ugly screen door. I am open minded but I personally don't like the way it looks on that car

looks good, i have wanted to do something like this, but am looking for some black type, either stainless steel mesh like you or some sort of plastic grill. I was actually planning on ditching the whole iroc/bowtie grill though to open up the area more for more airflow. looks good.

I did mine like that back in '99. I heated the plastic at the back and then pushed the screen against it allowing the screen to mold into the plastic.

The grill screens are doing a good job with keeping bugs and pine needles, etc.. out of the ram-air boxes. I shouldn't have to scrape dragon flies and other crap out of the K&N's anymore!

Now I think you have it, that same concept that 1bad91Z did but in black would look great
