Finally...

I finally got a third gen again it's been a little over a year. I treaded my truck for a 85 Z28 today its lightly modified and completley rebuilt. i got all receipts and everything so i know everything about this car but i have to wait till sunlight to really see the car.. In the inspection report it sias i have a 5.0 but im pretty sure its a 5.7 becuase every mild or stock 305 ive ever driven was pretty gutless. the car only has a mild cam and open filter but it hauls *** i think maybe the mechanic just guessed on what it was. I would put up pics but i dont know how to so any help with that would be great..

When you post, there is a 'Manage Attachments' button below the text box. Click that, and it'll open a pop up window that will allow you to Browse your computer folders, and select a file (pi) to attach & display.

Not hard.

Re: Finally...

Ya i agree but my bumper needs to be aligned if you notice its low on the drivers side so i'll probably keep it on there til spring when i do all the body work and paint. And i cleaned the engine today with chomp and it looks alot better but there is rust starting to appear on the valve covers and intake filter housing.. but im glad to have a third gen again

Re: Finally...

What ive done (3 different vechiles now) Is taken the valve covers off to lash the valves and replace gaskets. When i pull them off clean the inside out extremely well get all gunk out. Then take them and sand blast them and paint them with engine paint. The air clear is the same i just didnt paint it with engine paint. Its just in gray primer is looks really sharp just like that.

Re: Finally...

You sandblast the inside of your heads? like with the springs and rockers and everything on?? I might pop the valves on the engine this week just too see whats under there but it was rebuilt only like 4 months ago with a new block so it should be in pretty good shape.. i noticed today that i need to drive with premium fuel becuase i have knocking now past about 2,000 rpm with the regular fuel i put in today. Alot of my freinds have never been in a "muscle" car they now know what "torque" is hahaha also it scares the **** out of my gf

OHHH NOO!!... Lol i sand blast the outside of my valve covers... Not the heads... Ive done so on my truck, my camaro, and a friends truck.. Cleans them up, then with a repaint helps under the hood clean up well with fresh painted air cleaner and valve covers. Only time my girlfriends affriad in my car i when she drives it. Although she was scared to drive my truck to. Mainly because she drives a kia... My truck was an 88 regular cab stepside with a 350, Headers 3" true duals with cherry bombs, Mild Cam, And newer heads. She liked riding... but not driving.
