when i pull the hood latch cable i have to smack the hood before it actually pops any ideas on how to fix this? i know its not a huge problem but it sucks and ive chipped my hood with my bracelet

oil the hood latch, and work it around a little bit. this is what happened to mine. i just oiled it, and it worked fine. keep everything oiled up and it should work like normal again.

maybe ill just find a new latch
maybe ill just find a new latchyea, they only last about a week. if you don't want to oil it, like you said, i would just get a new hood latch.

DuPont makes a good spray can lube with Teflon, it stands up to cold and heat without losing its properties but I can't remember the name right now.
I always use this stuff called liquid wrench they sell it at autozone stays on there for a long long time works great its like the stuff that is used on plastic gears, and such

Yup mine does it too! I use Bel-Ray 6 in 1 lube and it works good for about 4-5 months or one season. I find when it does get sticky all I have to do is grab the hood at each headlight and gently rock it back and forth then it pops out.Senior Member
Another thing to check is the hood latch itself. This was a problem with mine, and I found that the latch had gotten out of alignment and was tilted, causing it to stick. If that is the case, its a simple matter of loosening all 4 bolts and straightening it out.
