My camaro got hit when I was leaving an F-body meet by a newbie driver. Just got his lisence on tuesday. Here are the pics of the damage. needless to say I AM PISSED

sounds good. So what all is damaged on your car? have you had a chance to get to a shop to get it apparaised?

I need a new left front fender, a new front bumper with ground effects and a new hood. It goes to the body shop on tuesday.


No the other guy didn't get a ticket. In fact no one did. A cop was sitting in the parking lot and saw the whole thing. The cop said technikly it was my fault because I had just started to roll out of the drive when a kid who wasn't using his turn signal decided to make a sharp left turn into the lot. My car clipped his left rear. He didn't give me a ticket because he said it shouldn't be my fault, I was making a left out of the parking lot. the drive has enough room for 3 cars to sit side by side.
The hood isn't good, its bent up front and completely misaligned/warped now. Can't see it in the pictures. I have full coverage with a $500 deductable.

 

This is one of my biggest fears when taking my car out. It's not like a new car when they can just get all new factory parts and fix it. Then there is the whole value problem when insurance gets involved and getting it fixed right. Also if the car is original that just hurts so much more.

I took out full coverage and extra insurance but if it got hit hard or stolen I'd be out a bit. It's just hard to afford insurance that covers a classic car for its true value.

 

i would check your header panel too.

 

Thats why when I get it fixed up I will be looking into specialty insurance where I can set an agreed upon value of the car.
