I bought my 92 RS with the driverside tailight busted and Im going to the JY to nab a new one. But I have no idea how to get it off.

 

Pull the rear interior plastic panel off, and you'll see 5 or 6 plastic wing nuts. There's one in the far corner, sort of behind the glove-box thing too, it may be kind of hard to see.

I went to the junkyard today and found another 25th anni. it was a pain gettin that tailight out cuz the hatch was closed but we got it put it on mine and looks good. And I found my parts car.

 

Well, you'll probably hate me for telling you this now, but you can pop the hatch from the inside. If you crawl in the hatch, pop off the cargo light, and you can see the latch. With a flat screwdriver, you can move the lever that holds the hatch down, and pop it open. I had to do it when I got my car, the power pull down unit was broken and the hatch wouldn't open with the key.

 

You can also pop the rear hatch from the inside by pulling on the black cable that connects to the lock cylinder

 

Ah its alright ward. No worries. You learn something new everyday. At least I got it and looks good on my car. If it werent for you guys though I wouldve been scratchin my head for hours wondering how to get that thing off. But I will remember that in case I need another in the future. Thanks alot guys.

 

Sorry for gettin a bit off topic, but can someone post a pic this lever that you can open the hatch with. I've tried finding it, but can't seem to see it.
