Headlights and T Tops

92 Camaro
Driver side headlamp wont turn on in low beam.
I turn on my high beams, and all 4 headlamps come on as they should.

Most likely wiring, but where to look first? Any advice would be great.

Also, where would be the best place to get replacement T Tops?

Re: Headlights and T Tops

the junkyards probably your best bet. I picked up a decent glass pair for $40.
Pretty much any will fit, however some slight modifications are needed. You sometimes need to slide the bracket up or down for the locking part of the t-top. There's a bracket in the front, and back.

So for the tops, look for any set from a 3rd gen? Would it be better to look for a set from a 90-92 so I wont have to alter them in anyway? Any online places that are reputable but worth the money?

Low beam filament on the driver side is burned out. The outside lights have 2 filaments, thats why they have 3 terminals on the back - low, high, ground. I'd buy a pair and replace both and keep the good one as a spare.

Junkyards can be hit and miss. The glass will fit (unless you have the C&C style tops). You may have problems finding the same latching mechanism as they changed through the years. Some of the pins are different diameters and some early ones used a hook and eye type mechanism. Easy enough to remove the mechanism from your current tops and transfer them to the new ones.

I'm pretty sure the 90-92 where not actual glass. I grabbed a pair from an 89 firebird and they worked out fine. ha one way I checked was found a 90-92 camaro and tested them in it :P. If it doesn't fit right away that doesn't mean it won't work at all. Sometimes the locking brackets on the car itself need to be raised or lowered.
