Lamborghini Camaro?
alright so i was going through some camaro vids on youtube and i came across this one. i fell in love with the doors, and eventually wanted them for my car, but most people shun that lol so what do ya'll think? is this a good or bad idea? btw, they don't make the hinges for 3rd gens, so i would have to cut through the metal to drill them in, although there are several universal hinges out there...wishful thinking.

Re: Lamborghini Camaro?
While I like the door idea, I wouldn't call that a Lamborghini Camaro. I more expected to see some kind of partial or full body kit, with Lamborghini styling.
I like those doors & would't mind having them. Unfortunately, there is no 3rd gen direct fit kit. Only universal kits that require custom cutting & fabbing.
On the ghetto car in the video though....I wonder how logthose hinges will last, with him playing witgh the hydraulics with the doors up? A week? A month? Won't be long before the doors don't shut right....

Re: Lamborghini Camaro?
search the boards i remember a thread a while back with lambo doors on a camaro
Re: Lamborghini Camaro?
i've actually been considering this mainly for somewhat the same reason they were designed for the lambo and others. parking spots! People around here have no idea how to park and the camaros doors are long as hell.

I hate the way they shake and bounce as the car creeps along. Plus with those kits you have to open the door a little bit before it starts going up.
Lame...
IMO if your gonna do a mod like that make it right. Make it so the doors are tight in the upright position and come straight down and latch firmly.
I realize you would have to modify the jams and the roof but if you gonna do a custom...

Re: Lamborghini Camaro?
lol thats too much like work. i dont see a problem in the opening a little before going up. A guy I worked with had a set on his 350z, and anyone whose riden in 1 of those knows how wide they are and have the same issue with huge doors. those things really came in handy when i rode to lunch with him. made getting out of the car so much easier.
