Pics of louver harware please
I have a set of louvers (aluminum slats in the middle and plastic on both sides) I have the tabs on the top that attach to the louvers and the rubber supports. Here is a picture of my louvers below. They also have these little holes on the plastic parts where screws go in. I have no idea what I need. All I know is that my louvers fly around and don't stay on. Do they need glue? do they need mounts for the bottom? does anybody have the hardware I need to keep them on or can I just buy the hardware??
here are the little holes on the plastic

here are my top tabs. do they need glue to hold on?

here are the tabs on my car

louvers on my car above ^^
I was told I may need mounts like these below but I don't know (these are not mine)

Re: Pics of louver harware please
I'm not real fam. with these louvers, but that first pic.Is that part of the louver located close to the rear of the glass?
If so,it appears to have a broken/missing mounting tab.
If I'm correct you should be able to either make or have a metal shop make a new piece that will wrap around the bottom part of the glass and hold the louver on.I don't think any glue would last more than a few days without the tabs that keep the wind from getting underneath and lifting it off the car.

Re: Pics of louver harware please
The first picture is of the middle of the louver (plastic). But there are 4 spots that look the same on it. One at the bottom and one in the middle on both sides. Do you know what the mounting tab looks like so I can make one? I have 16 gauge steel in the garage now. Probably too thick but I can get thinner from a local metal shop. I just am not sure what to make the tab look like at all.

Thank you very much. Do you mind if I use those pictures to ask on the board if anybody has these they want to sell? they look hard to make but I'll try.

Are the four mounting points on the side of the louvers? I've seen a lot of them and they look like they have these type clips. When you put the louvers down they snap around the glass. I can give you more pictures and measurements if you need.

Re: Pics of louver harware please
After seeing the other picture you sent me these are definetly what you need. Like I said they just snap over the edges of the window and you are set as long as your two top clips in the front are good. I was going to try and make some myself but got lucky and found a trashed set at the junkyard that had good clips. I've included some more pics next to a measuring tape, hope they help and feel free to use any of the pics anywhere you would like.

Thanks a 'lot man. You even got the steel tape in there! This helps me a 'lot!! Thank you for your permission with the use of your pictures, and now I finally know the whole low down on louvers. Phew. The top clips are solid so these things should finally stop wasting space in the garage. Thanks again!!!
Re: Pics of louver harware please
The clips shown by HFK are not the same clips I showed you. The factory set of clips go around the window frame and stay there. They do not come off. The louvers have a 1/4 twist lock that attaches to the louvers when you close them. The clips HFK is showing ook like they stay on the louvers and clip over the window frame when closed. Those clips will scratch the crap out of the window frame with each open/close. Are yours factory or Cragar brand? The clips for each manufacturer will be different and most likely not interchangeable.

There were a few brands that use the type clips I showed. You are right about factory ones but they have the twist lock on the louvers which his do not. I have never had a problem with the clips scratching the window frame or the car and they go on and off quite easy.

Re: Pics of louver harware please
I have no idea which one they are. All I know is I got them from somebody on craigslist who didn't know much about them. Plastic on the left and right, aluminum slats in the middle, two clips on top, and 4 rubber legs to support them (two on top and two on bottom). I have some numbers, but there is no name on them.
U.S Patent 4453762
4469366
91x82002
AAI 3727B RH CAV. 3
Then there are numbers on each slat. From the way things look, I would figure the four clips are what I need to get/make.

I am pretty sure there aftermarket cragar louvers. I have my eye on getting abs one piece louvers from classic industries in the future.
