Pick apart these pics

Yet another of my threads where im not sure where to put it.

Anyways i will most likely be buying this 89 IROC on Tuesday. Only has 99 000 km (not miles) on it. Technically 1 owner (that died 2 years ago). Has been sitting in a garage for 2 years (brother maintained it the best he could during). Before that the owner was to sick to drive it so he just maintained and washed it. I have never seen anything like it in town. On top of that i have been talking to him for months and have him down from 9000 to 6500.

Anyways i have see threads on a few car forums where people can see problems just buy looking at the pics. All i can see is the drivers side door isn't %100 perfectly aligned and its got the stupid 15 inch wheels hehe

With the 15" wheels I bet it's the automatic. If so it's optioned exactly like my '89.
Of course this one is a thousand times nicer then mine. Nice find!!!!

Runs great with a tiny bit of steering wheel vibe on the highway.

Here is a small clip of it running. Stock exhaust so i'm guessing there's something wrong with it. (not me driving) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN0RwePl39A

I don't have any pics of the under body but from what i could see on my knees it looks great!

looks like a pretty sweet find there!
I don't see anything wrong with the drivers door that a hinge/bushing kit wouldn't fix.And also, are you absolutely sure those wheels are 15's & not 16's

Optional on '89 IROCs as shown on the '89 Camaro tech data article..

https://www.thirdgen.org/1989-chevy-camaro

I had them too so while I wait for some bigger IROC wheels to come along I'm using the 16" T/A wheels on mine

Re: Pick apart these pics

It's TPI .. I never measured them i just assumed they where 15 since they don't look quite as cool as they should and seem smaller.

Do be honest i need to go look at the car again .. i was just in awe of how nice it looked that i didn't do all the normal things one should when looking over a used car. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time lol

What? You didn't even look at the tires while you were on your knees looking at the undercarriage? You must be totally stoked about this car!LOL!
Not that the wheels make a big difference but,I would check the tires before
driving it around.

Re: Pick apart these pics

I talked to him a bit more and he has only started it 4 times in the last 2 years for about 5 mins. Drove it for a week in june. Sounds like a guy that knew nothing of storing a car ... It seemed to drive fine but i wasn't able to hammer on it to see how much power it had (no problems at all getting to highway speeds). Hopefully it doesn't need lots of work on seals and tons of carbon build up .. Fuel lines are prolly in bad shape to eh?

iduno what to do now :'(

Re: Pick apart these pics

For a car that nice, I'd buy it. Then just do all the regular maintenance to it: oil change (Mobil 1), transmission service (NOT a flush because of the age and unknown service history), rear differential service (use Royal Purple synthetic), brake flush, coolant flush, tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition coil and use all AC/Delco parts). It probably needs tires because of the age so go ahead and put some nice 17s on it with some new tires. Good to go.

Thats a nice lookin car (same color as my 90 RS) I wouldnt care what is wrong with it, as long as it runs. Just do all of the things compuwiz1937 said and you will probably be just fine. Good luck, and congrats on a nice find!!

Re: Pick apart these pics

Had a guy look it over (went over %100 of it with a flash light and gloves) and the only thing he could find wrong with it was the clutch needs adjusting. We drove it for a while and the storage has had no ill effect ... I will just do a full service on it.
