Fiberglass hood question's.

i have had my SS fiberglass hood for about a year now and was wondering where to get some shocks for it so it can stay up when it open other then a broom stick.

The second question is, were can i get hood pins? MY hood starts jiggleing when i get about 45 and its a bit scary seeing the sides lift about an half inch

Re: Fiberglass hood question's.

summit racing or jegs for hood pins, or any other speed shop/preformence/shop

some early camaros had factory fiberglass hoods, so there are specific hood struts for fiberglass hoods. I think it was form 82-84, i dont have the part numbers handy, but im using a set and they work well.

Re: Fiberglass hood question's.

A quick trip to the Advance Auto Parts website yielded the following info--StrongArm gas charged lift support for fiberglass hood, P/N 4134.Price,about $20 each. Not to be confused with P/N 4422 which would be used for a steel hood. Hope this helps.

Re: Fiberglass hood question's.

I have hood struts that couldn't hold up the steel hood anymore, they work perfect for my fiberglass hood.

Any auto store will have hood pins in the car chrome stuff section.

Re: Fiberglass hood question's.

I use these hood locks,in conjunction with the original hood latch on my ss hood.
They work well.
