Iroc Camaro question

Hey I am looking for an Iroc Camaro. Well the question I have is does the body of the Camaro rust out when you drive it a lot in bad weather? The reason I ask is that I live in Northeast suburbs of Philly (Bucks County) and we get some snow here in the winter. Well I own a El Camino and the big no no with it is that you can not drive it in the snow or it will rust and could rot. Well does the same thing happen to the Iroc Camero or am I safe to drive it in the snow?
Thanks
Brad

Like it was already said, it doesn't matter what kind of car it is, if its steel and its in the salt/snow, its going to rust.

Look at post " Is this to much much rust"
That's what happens when you drive a Camaro in the snow
We in the snow belt are always looking for cars from south or south west

Re: Iroc Camaro question

If you don't want it to rust you won't drive it in the snow.
Also these cars don't handle entirely to well in the snow either.
They can be driven in the snow, it's just really not a good car do drive in the snow.

Re: Iroc Camaro question

20 mins after taking that pic, i dusted the car off, got in it and plowed through that snow with my snow tires, I can drive through about 8 inches of snow with my firebird. With posi trac I get through anything, and if I it is really bad I just through some extra weight in hte trunk.

How am I going to take a picture of myself and the car while I am driving in the snow.

I do drive in hte winter. every once in awhile I take it to the self clean service at the car wash, put a few quarters in and blast the underside of my car to knock the salt off. Once a month in the winter is good enough.

I plan to drive my iroc in the winter, after I coat the undercarrige with por15 or rust bullet. probably going to do the wheel wells aswell. should be good right? and word to the wise, if you drive in the winter keep the car clean to minimize rust or you'll end up with something like my old monte

Re: Iroc Camaro question

The camaro, being a 15 - 24 year old body, will not rust in the winter time.

Mainly because the materials used to compose the body panels were mainly space-age plastics, titanium, stainless steel, and carbonfiber.

My camaro has no rust spots on it. And thats after not driving it in the winter for the past 14 years!

Do you have a vendetta against me? Are you mad because I drive my car in the winter, or do you think it is funny?? I am under my car a lot lately, and my routine wash in the winter has worked fine. The previous owner let it rot, and it has not getten any worse since I bought it.

I really dont think you need to go to the sprayer more then once a month, rust is not that fast. And there is not sand/salt on the roads all the time. He is asking our opinions anyway, that is mine you dont need to be a wise guy, now I know why so many people left this site.

Re: Iroc Camaro question

My iroc was undercoated from the dealer. No rust underneath or very little and I live in indiana where we get our fair share of snow and salt on the roads and I drive it in the winter. Does actually really good with the posi-trac rearend.

I dont blame you. I've had some scary moments, so I only drive it in the snow when I have to. I have another car I drive most of the time so other drivers can smash into it and not my iroc.

Re: Iroc Camaro question

Our Bonneville car came from Montana. And there is zero rust on the vehicle. We treat the car with Salt Away before it goes on the salt along with the Tow Truck and Trailer and flush and treat after it comes off the salt and then retreat with Salt Away. There is zero rust on any of the vehicles
