Hello. I am in the process of painting my 92 convertible. What can I use to remove the remaining tape that held on the convertible spoiler and side mouldings? Thanks. Bryan

 

your spoiler was held on with double sided tape ???????

damn, mine was bolted on / siliconed on since the mounting bolts were broken .. haha


as for the tape .. theres a tool we use in collision repair that takes off tape, pinstripes, decals, etc

its a rubber eraser looking thing .. goes in a drill .. round thing .. i'll see if I can find a website that has it

if your painting the car, just take 80 grit and a DA to it .. takes it right off

im painting my vert too right now, and it all comes off really easy with 80 grit paper

Mineral spirits (paint thinner) cleans off most adhesive residue. Won't attack the paint unless you leave it on there for a while. Use a bondo spreader to help it along, just don't push too hard. Be sure to wash and wax the spot afterwards.

 

Goo Gone and WD40 works ok too. The eraser wheel like was said above works great from what I hear.
