Re: Hatch Glass Removal?
Just unbolt it and take it off. There's only 4 bolts.
A little advice though....get someone to give you a hand unless your arms are abnormally long and you're really, really, really strong.

Re: Hatch Glass Removal?
It's bolted on at the hinges. Just open it up and look.
If you are planning on installing your existing deck lid onto a new glass you'll have to remove other bolts on the underside of the deck lid under the trim panel and cut the glass loose. With your limited knowledge it's something probably better left to a pro.

Re: Hatch Glass Removal?
you can do it iv done it more then once... pull the deck lid interior panel off then you'll see the nuts and washers that bolt the deck lid to the glass, there are 2 screws on both the left and right outside that you have to unscrew this is to take off the window trim that wraps around the glass off the lid it will stay with the glass when you unscrew it that then you'll have to use wire to go between the deck lid and glass to remove the window sealnet

I have a question to add, may help the origonal poster too.
I haven't done this yet, and am sure I will have to pull it eventually.
Well two questions.
1 You adjust the hatch buy the hinge/mounting bolts?
2 Can you over tighten the bolts/nuts and break the glass, or is their a spacer or something to keep the bolts from putting to much pressure on the glass?

good question and thanks for bringing this up
Re: Hatch Glass Removal?
I'm not worried about taking mine off, just haven't done one before, so I don't know what it looks like having not looked and I don't have my car to look at right now.
Just thought that would be good to know, and something you may have wanted to know.

Re: Hatch Glass Removal?
Here's what the glass looks like without the panel attached, in case it helps anybody. There is some very thick weatherstripping gunk in there that will have to be cut out, I used a piece of thin metal from a sign. Before you put the other deck lid on there you'll need to add more weatherstripping, clear silicone will work as long as you clean everything good first. It's time consuming but it can be done.

Just curious, why are you changing your glass?
