Re: Help 1 eyed Formula

If the motor keeps it from going down you may need to unplug it before you turn it down by hand.

it the motor is running, but wont close/open

you should try this

http://hardwayracing.com/89gta/hlrepair/hlrepair.htm
and you can just use some rubber hose for the bushings

After I posted this I went out (4hrs) later and pushed the button firmly in the cener and they both went down without issue. I am guessing it is the switch any comments?

Re: Help 1 eyed Formula

I'm betting it is the Headlight Control Module, not the switch itself.

Are you working on a 3rd gen? Or the 4th gen in your sig pic?

Re: Help 1 eyed Formula

what year is it? they changed the wiring design I believe in 86 or 87 to a solid state unit... if it's the later solid state design, the unit has a square black plastic case and is mounted right near the window wiper motor. The design will determine how you go about diagnosing the problem.

Re: Help 1 eyed Formula

that would have the solid state controller.... sorry, but I only know the wiring setup for the earlier style with 3 relays.

Re: Help 1 eyed Formula

There were also two different headlight control modules used on our thirdgen Firebirds. 1987-89 model years use one module. 1990-92 (actually all the way through 2002) used the other. They look identical on the outside.
