Well well, all of us have heard the saying 3rd time the charm. I call shenanigans! I had to get hit again by a car for the 3rd time! This time I was in school preparing to go to my college class. What do I see on this day.

Oh course I was pissed. Some kid in a F-150 "didn't" see my car and hit it. I got it squared away insurance paid for everything. I got quoted at 2 shops. I friend of mine recommended so I went he jacked it up for me $1512.21. But the insurance company wanted another place so I found another place and they said $2200 . So I went to the first shop. I just got the car back friday and damn it looks good for the parts he fixed. He even fixed the wreck of 2007 damage, repaired the gfx and some other small things. My bill came up to $950. Wait a sec I got a check for $1512 $1500-950= $550!!!! I pocketed $550, and I was nice enough i paid him an extra $50.

Plans.....Well Im going to paint the car sooner than expected since now i have a good part of the money I need. The guy quoted me on a painted job for about $3500 but I suggested what if i preped my self and gave it you, he told me $1200! If you notice from the picture of the hood he trying to blend but the paint is so thin that it spidered. How good is maaco btw? I need a paint job bad.....anyway what you guys think? opinions?

I have had several cars painted at Maaco. If you are timid and will not cause waves, dont go. I took a car into one and left 3 times without it. I finally told him he could have all the mexicans paint my car he was just wasting money on paint, call me when it was done right. His head guy painted it the next day. The one up the street did a great job on my front clip and rear bumper. I find if you go to the projects, you get a project paint job. If you go to a nice area.............

 

and people wonder why insurance prices are so high....

 

What do you guys think of the fresh paint even though I ask for no clear? Did they prep your car?

 

looks a lot better then if it were still dented. I am really surprised that your body guy fixed your fender, with the time and materials he had in to that fender he probably could have replaced it with a solid one.

it saved me some money and Im planning to repaint in a month. Plus it matches a little better :P

 

I hope it was a single stage paint not just basecoat without clear. From the lack of shine I'd say it's just basecoat. Thats not gonna hold up long. I guess since you're painting it again soon it won't matter if it gets ruined.
