92 firebird transform to a 88 GTA :)
ok guys and girls sit back, get a snack its time for a story
i have a V6 3.1 1992 firebird and its been through everything
Now this is my first time sanding and painting a car so i need to know what the best way to attack this project and how to sander and paint the bumper because people are telling me I need a different type of sand paper, paint and clear coat for them since there made of plastic or something.
Now to complete the GTA look, I want to take all the ground effects off the car, the ones on the lower doors and on the lower quarter panels I just don’t see how I’m going to do that without break them off.
I also would like any input on it the fender fitting and front-end body alignment and what problems I will run into in doing this project.
And don’t worry once the body is done a nice 350 is going in this bad boy.
I will post picture on how im going

Rust-O-Leum "Sunrise Red" is a perfect match in color if you want to paint them cheap until you get the whole thing painted.

Regular sand paper (dry/wet) will do just fine. You can use any type of paint you want. I painted my car with Rust-O-Leum, then when I did a color change I used tractor/implement paint. All GTA's had ground effects. Do you mean Formula? Formulas don't have ground effects. The GFX unbolt from the car, but there are metal supports under them that are riveted to the car body. These holes will need to be welded up. The holes will be around 3/8" diameter all the way down the side of the car from the front og the doors to the rear bumper.

GTA badges are easy to stick on to any car. And yes, all GTA's had GFX.
