I was wondering if the t tops off a 87 could fit on my 91?

 

I am pretty sure any ttops from an 82-92 trans am or firebird will fit. Someone else chime in?

 

Its a direct fit, all 3rd gen T-tops are interchangeable.

 

the real reason asked is because i bought t tops from a "87 camaro" and they are larger then mine. Thank you for the fast reply.

There is a large difference. It would be impossible to put them on my car. I dont know if this is rare but they dont have locks either, and the handle dosen't release the way my old ones did. Instead you have to pull the handle down instead of to the side.

 

If you'd like me to post pictures i will all you have to do is tell me how i do that.

 

I've read there are differences in pin sizes for certain years i'm not sure what ones are different though

 

I know its not the pins. The actual size of the t top is longer than the old ones by 2-3 inches and comes out too far by about an inch or two.

 

Search C&C, I believe it is Cars and Customs, they did aftermarket t-tops. Pretty rare, Denny at thirdgenranch has a set for sale if you need some. I believe they are smaller than the factory ones.

sum have a ball type hinge and other have a hook.
(the locking mechanism that connects to your body)

 

I don't believe any 91 cars had the c&c tops.
Bangcamaro,are you positively sure these are from a 87 camaro?

Also,my 91-z has the glass t-tops and they fit just fine.No problemo!

 

I am not sure if these came off an 87, but i was told they were. Before opened a dispute with the seller I wanted to make sure there wasnt an alteration to the 87 that made the tops bigger.

 

those ttops are off of a monte carlo u need to go back to the person that u bought them from and get ur money back. i got a set with a leather bag for sale if u want

Well ty everyone for helping me out on this subject. I am sorta pissed that i have to try and pry my money back. Although i did buy them on ebay so i may i have the fact on my side that the auction did say a 87 camaro.

If you have some pics on those tops id love to see them. I don't need a bag mines in great condition. Also send me a price.
