Front Bumper

I'm wondering where to get a new replacement piece for the front bumper. It's a plastic piece that's bolted to the bottom of the front bumper that runs up into the car. It's pretty beat up just wondering if I can still get it new some where for cheap or can I just remove the whole panel and be ok?

Re: Front Bumper

Are you talking about the piece that directs air into the radiator? Because i'm pretty sure you can get one from year one or classic industries.

Re: Front Bumper

He may be talking about the little skirt/skid plate right under the bumper which attaches to the front of the bumper and directs air towards the air dam which is located under the radiator.

Re: Front Bumper

No, not the front air dam. It's a plastic piece that runs the width of the "chin" under the front bumper it's bolted down with about 3-5 bolts. I thought I could unbolt it pretty easily but it runs up into the car towards the radiator.

I took a picture of it. It's the plastic panel that is bolted down. What is this piece called exactly?

Re: Front Bumper

Unsure, maybe bumper skid plate..haha, IDK? I plan just to have one made from sheet metal, give it a nice brushed look. Mine is all messed up, only 1 bolt on each side is holding it on.

P.S. Look up the Japanese blue IROC, he has a nice underneath where he used sheetmetal to make small plates along the underside to smooth it out. I plan to do this also. Way down the road after my front end is complete.
