my dreams on paper
here is some drawings i did for the end product of my project camaro. let me know what you think. figured if i drew it out it would give me the go get r' done attitude again.
Re: my dreams on paper
oh and one more... btw it will have a tilt forward hood that is also pinned on to a frame under the hood, lambo doors, gt fenders, ss hood, vw corrado prjector headlights w/angle eyes, z28 high rise spoiler interchangable with a carbonfiber 72" gt wing, shaved everything+ tail lights that have LED fire and ice slits, shaved rear bumper body lines, all movable panels on actuators, full fiberglass interior with dodge stealth dash and fiberglassed engine bay molded around the engine and alot more but does not cover what we are talking about in these threads.

Looks good.. lots of work in there.
I assume from the rear diffuser that the big wing is for track work...

Re: my dreams on paper
its your car and you can do with it what you want, but since you did ask our opinion:
I think it looks pretty cool. I can definitely see the tuner style you're trying to incorperate into your Camaro. The only thing I would really object to is all the stickers/decals. I think the best tuner cars are the simple ones, for example, a Supra with a nice bodykit, deep dish wheels, nice spoiler and all one solid color, maybe black or dark blue or something. Stickers just detract from the car's apperance and its very r.i.cer looking, mainly because they are so easy to do. On top of that, you don't want to give a thief your shopping list. I would only put stickers on my car if that company is sponsoring me... The spoiler looks like it fits the car, but that particular one is just too "plain". It looks like you can make that at home with some spare parts. I'd say look for a better one, maybe double finned carbon fiber one... Lambo doors will look great along with a tilt reverse hood, and rear diffuser (all three of which have been done here on TGO already)...with that said, good luck and get your elbow grease ready!

Re: my dreams on paper
well like i said the rear wing is interchangable for when i go to the tack or the street. its going to be a show/ drift car/ time attack( even with the air ride). the lambo doors i found out that im going to have to inset my upper frame rails to make the a pillar door fram sraight and smooth to mount the hinges and keep them from hitting everything. i already have the whole car shaved. im doing all the body work at college(lincoln tech indianapolis) and the stripes along with the decals will have a blue marble effect to them( kinda like a kitchen countertop) and the stickers, decals, are not stickers, they are painted on. it goes undercoat then cobalt blue base coat then mask off the decals and stripes, then cadillac white lightning 3 stage pearl, then your clear. everything is going to be top notch and no detail overlooked. its going to be a piece of art.... not bad for only 19. oh and btw i can draw and car rendering you want and i can send it to you. just tell me what you want done

Re: my dreams on paper
You mentioned track time... If the track has any sort of sanction or enforces any rules, you may want to check out the shaved handle part....any track I've ever been on requires doors that can be opened with a handle from the outside so that if you crash the safety crew can get to you.....
Just a personal thing on all the decals....unless that company is paying for the ad or offering contingency money for having them, I don't give them free ad space on my car.....
Might want to do some aero research on the wing....most of that design create more drag then they do downforce.....it's a street car, not a 200 mph F-1 car.... So if you're doing the wing for function, might want to consider something more practical...if you're doing it just for looks, well it's your car and if you like it, run it.

Re: my dreams on paper
radical is right, you can't have shaved handles if you plan to compete. Nothing wrong with lambo doors, eventually, I plan to do that...

yeah, the stickers, id say let them go for now, then when you start competing and people start to notice you and want to give you money to race, then stick em on.
thats the plan anyway

Re: my dreams on paper
Aside from the good laughs I got reading all the posts..(whack God in the *****? LMFAO) you got some artistic talent and a very creative idea. I'm not crazy about tuners as its waaay too easy to make 'em look like an old hot wheels car at a yard sale. However, when they are done right, with care and pride taken into every detail they do look alright. You got a lot of work ahead of ya, don't cut corners (and trust me from experience don't get cocky) and it'll look good. Best of luck.

Re: my dreams on paper
to the op, the rear wing looks like it would cause more drag than downforce.. i did however see a 3rd gen with a wing similar to the one on the viper acr.. and if nothing else it made it look NASTY...

Re: my dreams on paper
my Forza III account has a pretty good representation of what my car will look like... Add my '91 Ground effects, and an SS Hood, and you're there! It even has the LS motor, FISKE FM5's, Roll cage, full suspension, Single large turbo, 6 speed, and blue paint!

And just because it is so darn cool:

209MPH
Putting the stop on with the 14" brakes

Re: my dreams on paper
Agreed.. car looks awesome but the wing... get the 91/92 highrise and call it a day I know its hard to build a one off car then put a stock piece on it but I wouldn't make my car ugly to be different...
