Rear Window Caps?

Does anyone know where i can find black caps for the rear window. I'm going to be picking my car up in a matter of 2-3 weeks and i would like to find them soon. The caps cover up the bolts on the back window. Does anyone know where these are sold?

Re: Rear Window Caps?

Sounds like you're looking for window louvers. Hawks third gen parts sells them, and every once in a while a set comes up in the for sale section.

It's not louvers....This is what i was talking about. If you look by the top brake light on the window, to the left and right there are those little black circle caps that cover up bolts...Does anyone know where i can find those?

Re: Rear Window Caps?

the " caps " you are asking about are the bolts . they are special bolts with special heads . good ones are getting harder to find . ebay has them from time to time . when re-placing them be very careful not to over tighten . if you overtighten you will be looking for a new rear hatch glass . i will try and look up g.m. part # later and post . good luck .

They aren't caps. They are smooth headed bolts painted bolt heads.

If your are mis-colored in any way, just repaint them.

Alright thanks a lot to both of you. I was looking at my car and the bolts must have like tops on them because two of them are missing on my car.

I bought four replacements from the GM dealer a handful of years ago, can't remember the price but they weren't that expensive because I bought them for my beater.

All I see on Hawks is the rounded top bolts, like we said they were. Where did you find caps, or are you just going with the rounded bolts?

Thanks a lot guys. I'll be 17 in a few weeks so I'm just trying to find out all the little stuff i need. My Dad was saying that me and him should try the local junk yard thats filled with Third Gen's. I'll try and find them and the Dash top i need at the junkyard.

I can't begin to recall all of the JY parts on my IROC. If you're selective, you can find parts that will serve you very well and that will be relatively inexpensive--and if you know what you're looking for, you can resell. For example, I stumbled on the JG1 alum drive shaft idea back in the day. Long story short, when everyone was saying how rare they were, I found and sold 60+ of them and made several thousand dollars, all of which went into my car. At any rate, JYing can be great fun because you never know what cool part you may stumble on.

Wow, that must have been some find. I think the Junk Yard might be the best bet because like you said it's pretty cheap as long as your taking the stuff out yourself.

Re: Rear Window Caps?

JamesC makes a good point. Jyard trips * can* be alot of fun.
Some times if you get a few items they cut you a deal. If you become a regular customer, some times they don't charge ya for miscelanious items if you get something somewhat major. Some guys will haggle a price.

I got inner door cards, seat belt things for the head rests, plastic screws for the rear plastics, & outer door openers-- paid for the door cards, they didn't charge me for the other stuff!!
