i have an 87 firebird that i am putting T/A gfx on and want to do the 2 tone red/silver that was common in the 80's i can not find (i have searched on here for an hour or so) a full paint code. the best i could get is WA-L8537 U8537 but those are both the same base color if i read correctly. this is the body type i want codes for http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ansam-wiki.jpg any help would be great thank you

 

Hey if no one comes up with it, Ill check my books/computer see if I can hunt down the code for you.
Oh and yes you are right, that is the upper and lower paint code for the car both showing the same color

Hey i looked for it but there is no specific code for the silver on the lower of the car which is weird.
I can tell you the GM silver paint codes if you would like? The ones specific to the 1987 car line.
I had an 87 black bird with the silver on the bottom so I know the cars had them but for some reason the books/comp have no two tone/additional colour information avaliable.

 

thats weird is there a site where you can look up the code and it shows the color so i can try to match it??

 

None that I know of, I have a paint program for me at work that is for Body shops only.
Ill grab the silver codes that GM used in 1987 at work tomorrow and post them up for you if you would like. It will be one of them
