Re: Lexan T-Tops?

Yes you will have to change out the locking mechanism but its relatively easy from what I heard.

FYI--The lexans are a step down from the glass--the lexans get scratched and tend to leak. There were alot of complaints to GM because of the leaking issue and GM was swapping out the lexan for glass.

Do a search and I think you will see what Im talking about..

BTW--welcome to the board!

alrighty, good to know. Ill look into it, but im still gonna get them, cause im just trading the stock rims and tires from my old ram i no longer own or have use for. There in mint condition, but i guess they'll be back up in case something happens to the glass ones.

Re: Lexan T-Tops?

They would be good for racing since they are much lighter than glass...

Re: Lexan T-Tops?

I got a set of Lexan t-tops for my 89 GTA and they went right in. I cant say what car they came off of since i got them from a third party. I eventually switched back to the glass ones since they didn't have any cracks and more importantly didn't leak

Re: Lexan T-Tops?

They'll fit with no problems. Even the ones with a larger diameter plastic pin that at first glance appear to require a change fit with no conversion required.

Yup what he said. I have swapped several sets onto peoples cars (even had a set for one of my older bords for awhile) and the only thing I have had to do, is "Clock" the mounting holes

Re: Lexan T-Tops?

Take it from me. I have the Lexan tops and if there is anyone who is silly enough to trade me for glass ones. I would do it. They scratch easy and they make a lot of squeaking noises. Mine dont seem to leak though.
