Would a 4" cowl look good?
I looked a a 6" cowl the other day and it was just too high. i was wondering if a 4" cowl would look good or if its just to high as well? and if any one has pics of their camaro with a cowl that would be great.

A 4" cowl is not only too much, but its "*******" as hell.

I think anything beyond a 3" cowl is usually too much. To each their own.

It takes some getting used to when you're trying to turn right or park close to a curb but other than that it looks great!!

I've got a 3" cowl on my Firebird Formula and I don't think it makes any difference while parking or anything. I don't think a 1" difference would do anything in regard to visibility.

It's not a Camaro, but it's a sweet looking 3" cowl hood from Harwood.

It does look pretty good, but the power bulge is my favorite hood of all time for these cars.

Re: Would a 4" cowl look good?
depends on if you really need all that hood. if you NEED a 4 inch cowl, then id get it, and when somebody says.. dude your hood is way to big, open the hood and tell them to **** off. if your doing it for looks, then its more of "nice cowl!! whats under that thing!!" so if your packing 400 hp, 4 inch cowl. stock 305... maybe 2 inch.. just enough to be different, but not rediculous.

Re: Would a 4" cowl look good?
Check out the following thread. There's just about every example of a 3rd Gen Camaro/Firebird Hood they make.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...oods-post.html
Take a look at the pictures and then make your OWN decision! I don't care for anything taller than a 3" cowl, but that's just my own personal taste.
If you decide you want one just because you like how they look then do it. After all it's YOUR car, who cares what anybody else thinks. I've been building cars for 28 years and I would NEVER let anyone sway my decision if I decided I wanted something in particular.

Re: Would a 4" cowl look good?
I probably wouldn't have the cowl hood if my car didn't come with it. Generally speaking, I agree with you. If you don't need it then there isn't much reason for it. Though now that I think about it, I have clearance for the Stealth Ram where as with a stock hood, you have to modify the hood slightly to make it fit. (That's my understanding anyway.)
