Well, I got it! 1989 GTA for $1000

Well if some of you saw my other thread, this was I car I had one point decided on but didn't get. But chose to take it today for a grand. It is a true GTA and it's in primer! Yay. Not really. Has 4wheel disc brakes. No rust, dents or any kind of body damage. Original interior with the GTA seats. Offset honey comb wheels. No VATS. Somehow the guy bypassed it all and everything works with it. It's surely a project but I think it was worth it. I think it even has an aluminum driveshaft? But here are some pics!!

Your pics make this car look 10x better than the pics in the old thread.

Hows that exhaust sound? I'm thinking of running mine just like that.

Well for the most part because it is. I'm still diagnosing the engine. It's got something internal going on with it and it could be as bad as the vavles. But the oil in it is SUPER thin. Almost like water. So it may be like 5w or something. That may be an issue there.

From when it ran it sounded pretty good. It was rough due to timing (the dist. is loose for whatever reason) and I think the carb is due for a rebuild or change.

Re: Well, I got it! 1989 GTA for $1000

Thanks guys! I am well aware that pretty much the rims/tires on this car and even the rear disc brake setup goes for that alone almost.

Then engine is a 350 bored to 355. Forged pistons, Forged Crank, crain cam, ported heads,Every gasket and seal on motor is new, holley street dominator intake, holley 750 carb, mallory high volume oil pump, hooker headers,hi volt dist.,dual flow master exhaust. Dual fan setup

That's straight from the ad. However, I don't like the exhaust setup he did. They run straight from the headers, no crosspipe, run into flowmaster mufflers and dump before each tire.

looks good. you better triple check the wiring. some of that looked a bit frankenstein on the interior. dont want it catching fire from improper loading and fusing on the electrics
