90 Formula (work in progress)

I've had my 1990 Formula for a little over a year now, and I haven't done much with it in that time besides cleaning it and fixing a few small parts. I went over my entire car the other day and made a nice big list on everything i need to do to my car including all the small stuff. That list looks like this;

PAINT- Car Body, Door Locks, Inner Wheel Well Rust Protector, Wiper Blades Arms, Middle T-Top Bar, Mud Flap Birds, and the Inner Hood Scoop.
BUY- "New" Stock Wheels, Spoiler, Cat-Back Exhaust, Weather-strip Kit, Decals, Window Tint, Body Molding
Fix / Clean- Body Rust, Rear Windshield Trim, Bumper Vinyl, Mud Flaps

Unfortunatley that list got a little longer as I accidently rear ended someone the other day. (The car came out of no where, I swear!) Now I need to add a new hood and front bumper to that list, but I will slowly make progress on this list. I hope to order many of these parts over the winter so I can start on my car quick in the spring.

You have my dream car ( except I don't like t-tops). I love that color and Formulas are beautiful. Try look for a bumper a junkyard, the good thing about Formulas is they share the same bumpers as base firebirds.
Also look to find a place to refinish your wheels instead of finding new ones, it could be cheaper and easier.

Agreed, i love the formulas. Im trying to make a clone, somewhat. I had a base w/ 2.8 5 speed and swapped in a 5.7 with a t-5. I love how it looks stock, other than gta wheels. Id rather see you refinish those wheels, keep it original, as long as the wheels are bent or rashed up bad.

Don't like t-tops?! You gotta be joking! haha jk. I found a guy on craigslist who has a bunch of good firebird parts. He has a formula hood and front bumper cover. I forget the years (late 80's or 88 maybe) think they should work just fine tho.

I haven't looked in to refinishing the wheels yet, but that might be better and cheaper than getting new ones. i was debating for a while weather to get yearone snowflakes instead of stock, but the more i thought the more I liked the stock wheels and the less I liked the idea of putting snowflake on there.

They're nice if they dont leak, but a lot of the cars I looked at they all leaked. I rather have my a/c on then have t-tops out. but that's just my opinion. All bumpers and hoods on 82-92 are all interchangeable so I cant see any reason why they wouldn't fit. I'm still looking for a Formula hood around here but I think my problem is I don't want to spent a lot of money.

I know what you mean about the t-tops. Mine used to leak some when I first got the car, but I've been trying to rework the rubber and now it only leaks a bit. Have you checked craigslist in philly? craigslist always seems to bee good for pretty nice parts, and you can always try to haggle the seller down.

I check craigslist religiously but have yet to find a decent hood.

Nice, you took a base bird and gave it a bigger engine then my Formula. The stock look for Firebirds are almost always the best way to go. My wheels have some light curb rash, nothing too bad. I don't know how much it would cost to go and get each wheel redone. I know that new stock wheels run around $150 a wheel.

Re: 90 Formula (work in progress)

Started some work on the bird today. Sanded the main parts of the surface rust down to the metal and got it primed. Still more to sand, but have the noticable stuff out of the way. Also, bought my new hood, bumper, and a center section to the tail lights. Got the new center installed.
