Pics of my new paint, what i could afford.

Here's a few pics of my 90 GTA after being painted. ($1800.00 bodywork and paint) I wanted to have the body work done before anything got worse. I pulled the drivers door off an 86 T/A. The Fiberglass spoiler is from Hawks. New window sweeps from 1A Auto.
Its not show quality, does have some overspray visible in a couple areas that i will clean up. T-Top weatherstrips next to be changed along with interior recovered, 4 repro fron wheels and my alstons welded in. And new GTA emblems. I'm happy for now.
I thought $1800.00 was a reasonable price for what i got. What do you think?

Well, pics won't show the fine details of your paint job, but it looks great nonetheless. I recently got all my bodywork done and painted, and I can tell you this: By looking at the pics -1800 bucks was VERY reasonable. I paid more than double that. Looks nice!

I thought is was a good deal, i jumped on it. The guy has a small body shop here in town. It took a couple weeks longer than i was told , because of Insurance jobs pushing me to the back of the line. As we all know and he told me, Insurance jobs are much more profitable. He said he charged less for non Ins. jobs to garner more Business through word of mouth. But i do think he wished he quoted me more, i think it was more work than he anticipated, especially when it came to the new spoiler, and the drivers door, and replacing the window sweeps which he normally charges 50 bucks per side. He did a great job on a 55 chevy shell for a guy that owns the same year and makes of the cars and the scooter from the American Grafitti movie. But i'm sure he paid much more than i did, it looked like Black ice, Amazing.
Mine is by no means perfect, but it does look very nice. Now, to see how it holds up.

He painted the top of the GTA emblem on the pass. side because it looked rough. Drivers side is gone, i told him not to bother, i was getting a new set.

Re: Pics of my new paint, what i could afford.

Had i had $4500.00 to spend, i could have had it done what i refer to as the right way. Everything removed from the car, painted then reassembled. But this was the best i could do for now. I think it will carry me to a much better job down the road.

By the way, many of you here have a some Great looking cars!!!

Nice job for the price. I'm just hoping your painter has some kind of warranty for a while. I would hate to see it peeling in a year or so. Good luck.

I'll be talking to him tomorrow. He Guarantees 100% satisfaction, but that of course doesn't mean he won't screw me later if i have a problem. I would not be happy to see the paint peel no matter what i paid.

Sometimes small shops are less pricey because of less overhead. He also needs word of mouth to stay in business. Might be you found a little gold mine there.
