i jus want to kno if any of u guys out there have modified the stock GTA trans am hood after installing a new intake manifold. well on my car i cant close the all the way it will go to the latch n thats about it. anyone mod it to make it fit wit out any problems? pics would help on how u did it.

what intake?

you can try to remove the under hood insulation, gain a little clearance.

 

I had the hammer in & cut out, some of the bracing the hood to clear my STB, so that the hood would fully close.

It would close & latch safely, but looking along the sides, you could see the edge up about 1/4".

 

i have the holley stealth ram intake manifold, mine will latch on the hood safely as well jus wont go any farther than that.

 

i was under the impression that this manifold fit no problem? never heard of this issue before. Are you sure its hitting the manifold?

 

ya, well i mean thats the highest point in the engine compartment, so i assume thats wat not allowing the hood to fully latch

thats a link to a video of my car wit the gap, ya i kno its race n all that n a pic would be alot better. but right now im in college n i left my car bak home, so i cant get a pic of it right now. but that video shows the gap n how big it approximately looks.

 

any one else got any ideas or wat i can get it to close right?
