I'd like to get my formula looking like a formula again. I was wondering if anyone knew whether it was compatible with the third brake light set up or if I needed anything else to put back my third brake light before March.

 

Yes it does, the holes for it are even pre drilled and have metal threads inside. I got one for my GTA, but the holes did not line up correctly for the third brake light. So I had to bolt down one side, and use double sided body tape on the other. It was not a major problem, I was just disappointed. That and the gaps on each side of the spoiler between the arms and the hatch. But I have had that spoiler on my car painted black in the desert sun and there are no cracks or anything in it yet, I have also been about 115+ mph with it on the car and it didn't fall off so its good lol.

it does not come with the third brake light, just has the mounting holes for your current light to be swapped over. im having to trim my fixture housing down some as its too tall but thats ok with me.

 

Good thread. I'm probably going to be getting one for my formula in the summer, so this info helps me out as well.
@BigBadGTA- Nice bird man, looks really great out in that desert. And the desert itself looks like an awesome place to be. (house, house, house, giant desert mountains, house, house) Bet you can get some great pics with that scenery.

 

Are you grinding it down?


And BigBadGTA, can you post pictures of the gap between the arms and the hatch? As expensive as this thing is, I'm hoping it is very minor.

 

with the wing rough mounted i'll slide the housing in place then trimm it abit more then size it up and trim again.

 

Yes but how do you trim it? I haven't seen my brake light assembly since before my senior year in high school, and I'm in college now so I don't remember what material it is. I remember the spoiler was very heavy rubber/plastic.

 

i'v been using my dremel and its plastic, sorry bout that.
i have 2 3rd light housings, one im using to mock trim and the other is the orig and it'll be the final version unless this one fits real well. i'll be more or less forced to get going with this project as i have one piece of the puzzle left to get before i paint my car and thats a new rear bumper cover. i have my wing, T top seals (GM 4133 gen 2 kit) new nose and a painter. in order to fix the mild rust in the T top area im a all or nothing person so no sense in yanking the seals and putting new ones in on a car that needs painting to have to re do them again to properly paint.
