El Camaro anyone?
There was a really funny El Camaro on here a long time ago but I have found another. The thing that is most dissapointing is that it is in my home town.

That's not a Camaro front end. It's a urethane piece designed to resemble the Camaro front end. Also, I believe the Choo Choo custom was the El Camino SS with a Monte Carlo SS front end.

Re: El Camaro anyone?
To be real you gotta use a real front end off a Camaro, fenders n all.
To do a conversion as such is not easy and you need something that matches up better such at this GSX-Camino

Re: El Camaro anyone?
Those first 2 looked like a poor mans attempt at putting a 3rd gen nose on, to make a EL Camino SS. You can tell because there is no grille & the ground fx pieces don't fit right (on the 2nd car). The real thing looks much better.

Re: El Camaro anyone?
Actually guys as it has been stated that is not an actual 3rd gen Camaro nose, it's an aftermarket nose that will bolt up to g-body/el camino fenders that only (slightly) resembles a 3rd gen Camaro nose. As stated it is way to flat I don't understand why they didn't extend the nose out to make it look like a Camaro nose. The car that Stephen posted was a conversion made by choo choo customs to resemble the monte carlo SS which I think looks pretty good and if I remember correctly that nose is not the same as the monte carlo SS. The cool thing is that you can take the front end, hood, fenders and doors and make an el camino look like any g body. But just to reiterate this is not a 3rd gen nose it's an aftermarket that only resembles one.

Not quite following what you mean here but I wanted to add something I forgot before these cars were not produced by GM they were produced by choo choo customs however they were endorsed by GM and I think they were even in the brochure too. I would imagine it was something similar to the 3rd gen f body convertibles, where it wasn't actually produced by GM but it was just endorsed by them.

Re: El Camaro anyone?
Yeah. GM really screwed up the Camaro from 1982-onward. I stripped as many of these as I could in the 90s.
The later thirdgen years had a nice dash, but the nose was just . blah!
The new Camaro is a sharp car.

No. I think the Firebirds look awesome!
I wouldn't mind owning another Formula as a daily driver. The prices on thrdgens are starting to creep up now though which is sad. I remember when I could buy a nice shape car for under $1,000. Those were the days.

The Z28 I have right now is a nice little race hot rod, but with a 4spd trans, big cam, etc it's not exactly a 'drive to work on the highway daily' type of machine. So I drive my dump truck to work, believe it or not.

Re: El Camaro anyone?
True. I do see them from time to time. Mostly camaro's or trans-am's though. I would love a 5spd TBI car with t-tops for cruising.
