What do you think about this paint?

84 z28

Decided to start working on what needs attending and there are beginning signs of rust in rear wheel wells and theres cracing in the paint and little dings here and there so im going to repaint the car.

Its not my daily driver so I have time to do it.

What do you think of this basecoat and clear?

Ill probably be getting the primer from the site too unless someone has a better suggestion.

Seems cheap enough for a do it yourself type of person. Don't see why it wouldn't work

Have you checked out summit? they have a great paint line....if you do paint please dont use that little dust mask!! That is a particulate mask! You will need something with a charcoal filter for vapors.....check this one out its the same one I use daily!

Re: What do you think about this paint?

I have two respirators. One that I had to pay the school to give me and one from my brother.

What primer should I go with?

I know I should use the same company as the base coat and clear but they dont have it. Ill try and find it elsewhere too

You'll need epoxy and high build primer. You need high build to spray on where you have bodywork and wet sand it down smooth, that way when its all painted and done you can't see the sand scratches where the bodywork is.

Re: What do you think about this paint?

Thanks. The biggest dent is a little bigger then a quarter and its rite below the top curve of the FL fender. Just a couple other dings.

That is as long as nothing else has been done. the rear quarter was repainted at one time, so it will be interesting to see what happened. It wasnt on the carfax so yea

It goes high build primer then epoxy primer rite? and what about primer surfacer.
