89 iroc 3 piece spoiler dont fit???

the 89 iroc i bought had a firebird spoiler on it,well it came with new rear bumper cover, and the 3 piece spoiler

i tried to put the center piece on today but the bolt holes dont line up.

does there happened to be a difference in the different years were the bolt holes r located in the deckild/spoiler

heres a picture of what im dealing with

and yes i know theres extra holes i am going to weld in filler plates and fix the extra holes in the decklid

My guess is he may have welded the holes for the original spoiler, and drilled new ones for the 'bird spoiler.

the firebird spoiler was attached with the second set of holes in from each side.
and then had 1 more hole on each side about 2 inches foward of the rear holes

Maybe it's actually a firebird hatch?

no the vin sticker on the hatch piece matches the vin number on the car

Judging by the hole layout on your decklid, your car had a spoiler with a third brakelight. Looks like that's the type of spoiler you need to find if you do not want to drill new holes. Notice the hole in your decklid right above the first bolt on your license plate, that is for the brakelights' wiring.

thanks i didnt even think about a 3rdbakelight spoiler. i dont like the third brake light so i will just drill 2 new holes for the non brake light spoiler to fit.

then i will just weld in filler plates and fill the holes i dont need and the holes that were drilled for the firebird spoiler
