Firewall

Found rot on my firewall, anyone come across this? just wondering if it is a common problem. I know I will need to pull the motor to fix this, I just do not have the room for all of this to go on. I was planning on just redoing the paint and interior and driving her, but now it looks like a huge project.

Do you know if the motor has ever been pulled before. Alot of times people will pull or insert the motor scrap the firewall and it leads to rust or rot.

Re: Firewall

My guess it is just like mine. I have rot where the cowl drain floor meets the firewall and the hole lets water drain down the interior of the firewall AND through into the engine bay. Going to be a bitch to fix...

Re: Firewall

Yea, pulling motor and dash to cut out the rot and patch the wall, not fun but needs to be done right. If it were not a convertible I would have just scraped her.
