Hit a deer this morning. Need advice *pics*

I hit a deer this morning and my hood is now dented and kinda warped. Is there any way I can fix it or do I need a new hood?

The damage is surprisingly not bad. Broke both my front turn signals, messed up my passenger side fog light (I think I just need to adjust it, they are not original, just OEM look-a-likes), the plastic housing on my driver side head light motor is cracked, and dented my hood.

I think you should get another hood. There is no way you will ever get that straight, and a good used one shouldn't cost you that much. Did the core support get pushed in? It looks like the bumper cover is slightly under the hood.

deffinately not worth putting in the time to fix that hood. the dent is on the crease some and that'll be some major time into getting it straight and may not ever. Another hood is a cheaper and easier option. I would report to my insurance agency for sure.

The deer was fine.
She was running across the road so I tried to miss her but she jumped right in front of me and her butt landed on my hood. Then she bounced over the car and landed in the grass on the other side of the road. She wasn't there when I came back. lol

SCORE!
Got another hood with all of the louvers and vents for $75. It's in near perfect shape but it's black so I'll have to paint it, or maybe I won't?

If you paint the hood go ahead and paint the underside as well, else it'll be a dead giveaway that it has been replaced (if anyone looks under there). I'd also try to take a good pic of any stickers under the old hood before disposing of it, once they're gone they're gone.

Wow thats the least destructive dear hit ever. Around here they are like the plague people hit them daily. Trucks drive around all fall just to pick up the bodies.

It was an adult doe, her legs were taller than my front end and her butt landed on my hood. I was doing about 60-70 mph when I saw her and hammered the brakes. There's a 10-15 foot skid mark before we met but I never stopped completely. She actually bounced off of the hood and went over the car and landed in the ditch on the side of the road. I got lucky, she didn't come through my windshield.

Ya had pritty much the same thing happen when i was driving a 90 cutless. I'd pencil out the insureance before telling them. You'll have your deductable and probably and insureance jump...I know its illegal to do that from a deer but it happened to me. might just be better off sweeping it under the rug and not dealing with the mess.

Wow that's like the least amount of damage I've ever seen from hitting a deer. You got LUCKY. I'd get a new (used) hood for sure, you can probably have one sourced, painted, and on the car for well under $1,000.
