so i completed my turbo build, and body work and paint wasnt supposed to happen till late this winter, but the body shop told me they can get it in the first of next month. so the rush is on now

this is how i spent my last 4 hours

 

the plan is one panel a day then get body filler on it and sanded then off to the body shop for the paint.
i did the hood entirely by hand, but hell with dooing the rest by hand tommorow im running out and getting a da sander, then after that ill body fill were needed and sand by hand

the hood was also the worst panel on the car, the roof is second though that might need a total strip down to bare metal, wont know until i start sanding it tommorow.

other then that i got one ding in the rear quarter panel and a ding in the passenger door to fix

the car is being painted a very deep very metallic blue , with silver metallic flames , also the flames are going to get an airbrushed outline to make them pop off the car more

i wanted to but except for the paint job , i wanna keep this one stock looking body wise, only thing im going to change is im going to pick up hood blisters instead of putting the louvers back on.

other then that the only noticable thing will be the hole in the rear bumper for the parachute mount

 

Why not spring for some 91/92 aero ground effects before she goes in for paint, would look sweet....

 

i dont like those that much and even if i did it wouldbe like finding a needle in a haystack to try to get a set out here

 

got the hood fully done and primed i took pics but think it was to dark for them to come out good, so once i get them off my phone ill post them

i ended up with a lil bit of body filler in the hood and about 5 coats of hi build primer to get the hood damn near perfect

if anyone is interested i can maybe put together a howto video on metal shrinking with a torch. it comes in hand for tiny high spots on a flat panel were u cant get a dolly behind the metal u are tryoing to bring back into shape

it dosent take long to learn how to do but it takes a long time to master how to do it, ive been doing it for years an still **** it up now and then

i hqave a lil problem neibor called the cops on me for spraying so i need to figure ourt how to prime everything else or just have the body shop do it

 

are you doing all your work outside? including painting? that's not easy to do! just my luck a bird would flyover or a bug would land in it!

that's dedication! when i lived in an apartment i once had to change the timing belt on a vw rabbit....when it was 20 degrees outside and snow on the ground.....i work in warm shop now!
