Fresh paint job but needs finish polishing
My IROC has a fresh red paint job on it, looks great but needs the clear coat polished since the paint is cured. What type of polish and what kind of pad do I need for my high speed polisher? Do I need a finishing pad, the foam one? Or a light cutting pad?
And what type of polish?
I'm not body expert so I need kicked in the right direction here.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, you should talk to whoever painted your car about what to use. Typically its a multi step process. If you know the type of paint used you could also talk to a autobody supply store in your area. They could sell you everything you need and give you some pointers on how to NOT screw up your new paint.
Re: Fresh paint job but needs finish polishing
Solid advice above, talk to the painter, some paints don't buff well after xxx time. High speed polisher? A 5000 rpm high speed angle grinder should not be used. Like stated it's a multi-step process, wet sanding, cutting compound, polishing compound, machine glaze, final glaze, appropriate pads for each step and backing plates, etc
I would recommend 3M or Meguire's products don't waste your money on cheap products(ie:turtle wax compound), the grit is not consistent, the results are just not the same, considerably more labor intensive, and look like you polished it with a brick.
