So my t tops are blacked out and look horrible. I dont know what kind of material is top of the glass but looks horrible. Should I just use spray paint and paint them?

Re: T-Tops ???

No. Why the hell would you want to spray paint your T-tops?

The glass is smoked from the factory. I can't imagine how smoked glass could possibly look worse than Rustoleum.

Re: T-Tops ???

I have some plastic or Lexan that are all scratched and I thought about painting them body color but painting glass would not really look good nor work well.

Agreed, remove the crap, rather than piling more crap on top.

Sounds like you have the plastic ttops. They are known for doing that. If you can swing it, buy some glass tops...

Re: T-Tops ???

Yes and no. There are three types of ttop strikers in our cars that vary through the years. This includes the latches (82-83) the 5/8" pins (83-89) and the fat pins that are bigger than your thumb (lexan ttops). The fat pins are just the 5/8 with a plastic shroud around them and they do fit the regular round ttop striker receiver found on most cars. Not exactly sure if they are interchangeable, but they should be. The latch style are totally different and if you come accross them, leave them alone, they won't fit.

Re: T-Tops ???

I also have the crappy plastic latch type ones, I was thinking of trying and restoring them as it would be cheaper than buying a new set or should I go with the glass ones and if so what would be an adequate replacement?

This is not a bad idea, but you can also wet sand with say 1500 grit, then work to 2000 grit then buff the hell out of them. I have the glass tops and would not dream of having the plastic ones.
