I got an 88 iroc z and it didn't come with door key, also the switch won't release it anymore. What should I do to get it open?

 

if you get a hold of a good locksmith there is a chance they can re-key the locks for you or they might be able to at least get your hatch open so you can replace the lock.

 

my key wouldnt open my hatch. i poped off the hatch light and put a flat head on the inside of the lock twisted and it poped open. give it a try. you have better chances of opening it from the inside then the outside

 

Have a new key made (or get new lock set), then you can lock your doors as well open your hatch.

Have you checked to see if it's just a blown fuse keeping the latch switch from working?

 

yeah the accesory fuse is good the power locks work and when i pill up the e brake and hit the button it clicks but doesnt do anything

 

i feel your pain with no keys. my new gta didnt come with right keys .same thing with my hatch it clicks but doesnt release.

can we take our title to a dealership and have them cut a key based off the vin number?

 

You car is too old and most dealers don't have the info and don't want to be bothered. A locksmith can make you new keys.
My 84 didn't come with door/hatch/t-top keys and a locksmith came to my house
and made a new set for $30 bucks.

 

Yes,a dealer should be able to get a key for you with the vin and proof of ownership(title)

 

Got mine popped just now.in a moment of brilliance(or dumbassness depending on how u look at it)noticed there wasn't any hatch support struts.had the gf push the button as I pulled up on the hatch.badabing!
