Licence plate in front

I live in texas and by law you must have a licence plate in the front of your car, and when i bought the car, it didn't come with a hanger for it, i have been pulled over twice, does anyone know if i can get a rack that will go on and i don't have to drill holes in my car, thanks.

Nope. The stock bracket is designed to be held on by screwing into the front bumper.

I live in texas as well, and have been pulled over numerous times for not having mine on the front.... Ive never actually gotten a ticket for it!

Why dont you just put it up on your dash or something? I have a few friends who do this, and they dont get any trouble...

When I bought my 85 TA, I was also required to have a front license plate. The factory bracket required drilling holes in the front facia of the car (an idea I dreaded). To resolve the problem, I bought 2 "L" brackets, drilled the holes in the bottom of the facia and mounted the plate to these. The plate is quite a bit lower, which it has dragged the ground on some dips, but my front end is still in tack.

Steven, I live in Dallas and also recieved a citation for not displaying a front license plate. The only reason I got the ticket was because I was crusing down royal lane looking for some races. So really it's just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I would suggest not trying to place the plate in the windshield because the officer can still write you a ticket, I had mine up and the officer said that in the windshield doenst count. I would just buy the bracket and hang it properly.

I got pulled over and threw mine up on the dash, the cop told me it didnt count. I told him to go fu*k himself cause the law says you only have to have it forward facing, be in the front 1/2 of the car and in plain sight from standing in front of the car. so he gave me a ticket for having my fog lights (factory, but still gives me a ticket) on and a tinted rear plate cover. on of the guys in our club has his front plate on his air damn under the front bumper, he got pulled over for no front plate before, showed it to the cop, and he let him off.

When I got my RS the guy gave me the front plate and bracket in the back seat, and it had already been put on the car because the holes were there when my parents said I should got to the police station and ask if it should be put on. they obviously said yes so to satisfy my parents, i screwed the damn thing on. month later, I took it right back off and haven't been pulled over once for that
