Is She totalled????????

Driving through a parking lot (10-15 MPH???) some women driver blows her stop sign and hits me. Smacks the front corner dead on, It doesnt look to bad but I need:[*] front passenger side fender,[*]passenger side headlight,[*] parking light,[*] hole bumper front thing,[*]cant turn without rubbing BAD,[*] passenger door wont open even 2 inches.[*] and looking at the car from behind the drivers side is about 2 to 3 inches higher than the side that got it.[*]also looking at front wheel wells there is now an extra 2-3 inches clearance on drivers side and none on the side that was hit.[*]

it looks like the frame (sub frame, uni-body whatever) is bent due to the drivers side being higher now. Is she totalled or do you think they will fix her, its an 86 firebird with a 305 and flowmasters, otherwise all stock.
[*]I kina want it to be totalled so I can get a T-Top trans am or formula.

Based on your description, I would say that the insurance company will total it. Since it was the ladys fault, Make sure you detail everything that was extra to the insurance company. If you have special aftermarket rims, new tires, any engine dress up or anything, they compensate extra for those things.

I had an 86 Cavalier Z24 that caught fire in NJ. The insurance totalled it and I got an additional $900 out of em for proving that I had some upgrades that were lost.

It's totalled. It sounds like it got hit right on the end of the bumper bar and both rails are bent away. If you want to keep it, buy it back from the ins.co. or have it written so it's just not totalled. With used parts and a set up on a frame machine it's a cheap end easy fix. 2-3 hours set-up and 2-4 hours pull time @ your local labor rate. That's stripped down before it goes to the frame shop. All you do is clamp on to the end of the damaged bumper bar and pull the rails back back to center. Stress relieve it, fix up any "chew marks" and measure it till it's within spec. Put on new bar and ready for sheet metal. Leave your (otherside) fender on and it'll come right back too. Your door that won't open is probably hitting the fender. Use a screwdriver to gently pry the fender over the door then open the door and pull the fender out.

I would take all of your "upgrades" out and put back stock stuff in its place. I mean, damm, the insurance company already owns you. Screw them

Ok new question...my exhaust survived the accident fine...the car was towed to the towing company, tonight I had it towed to my house, I thought my exhaust was hanging a little low, looked at it, the hanger is ripped off the pipes and now the pipes are all loose and wiggling in the clamps and all, should I claim my exhaust or atleast the pipes since it is less than a month old and ripped off due to the towing?
