See my car is exactly like urs in height but ur ground effect doesn't hit its the plastic air dam inderneath when u go up a hill or somthing because when i have a large incline it scratched too
Mine scrapes. ALOT! I have gotten used to hitting hills and RR tracks at an angle. And it isnt only my underneath spoiler thing or whatever it is. Its the ground effects. I know it is because the bottem of them dont even have paint on them its been scraped away. And mine sits about like yours does.

Ive been wondering the same thing....making the car look lowered when its really just the ground effects closer to the car....I really like the look of racecars...how the front spoiler is almost skimming the ground...of course I wouldnt want it that low on a daily driver....but maybe an inch or so lower than it is now...that would be sweet looking.....and on the rear....I have quad exhaust....and i think it would look 10 times better if the bottom rear part were like 2 inches lower...and the section where my tips are were cut out in a rectangle....but Im planning on lowering my car about an inch...so maybe i'll like it like thatt.

nono.. I know the airdam scrapes sometimes.. but it seriously is the ground effects that scrape on a lot of hills.. plus without the airdam if it gets scraped to much you risk a big shot of the car overheating

A lot of the scraping you hear is the air dam, not the front GFX. But, if you lower your car it may actually scrape the front GFX LESS. If you are still using stock springs & struts, the car is diving forward under heavy braking. So you scrape the underside of the front GFX at railroad grades and drainage culverts. With lowering springs and high performance struts the front will dive less under these conditions. Lowering springs are shorter, but a LOT stiffer than the stock springs. Also there is another technique you can learn that will help keep you from scraping in these situations. Brake heavily when coming up to the obstruction, but release the brake and accellerate slightly going over it. This transfers the weight to the rear lifting the nose just as you cross over the railroad crossing, etc. It takes some practice to get good at it. Good luck, Lon.

the car's definately not lowered and never will be.. The roads aren't bad and I'm not going incredibly fast.. It's when there is a dip in the road then you bang thr gfx if not paying attention. For instance as someone above said when you go over railroad tracks.. my original quote "fast" Didn't mean blazing speed

Aw come on. Sure there's drawbacks. Just don't drive fast on unfamiliar roads. On familiar roads, you know when to slow down.
And you get used to taking inclines at an angle.
And if there's a hairy bump or dip coming up, I've learned to kind of jink to the right as I go over it to keep from scraping if I'm moving along at a nice clip.

yeah that's pretty much how I got used to it.. You know what pissed me off?? my dad drove my car (luckly before painted) He didn't know how far my car went and ran the ground effects into a curb while parking it, leaving big white scratches all over the bottom front.. boy did I get mad at him.. hehe
