Dash Light Color

On my 86 T/A the dash lights are orange. Can this be changed before installing white overlays? and anyone that has done this, how does it look? what colors are available?

yes you can change the color.

the bulbs in my TTA had little colored condoms over them that give it the orange tint. I put the overlays in and changed to red bulbs..... it looks outstanding.

You can get the bulbs that are the colored glass, as well. Not sure about your car, but mine ('91 Z) takes 4 bulbs, and if you have the "integrated" type bulb (socket and bulb comes together), you can still get them separately... I changed mine to red not too long ago - looks pretty cool, I think.

I still have the original gauges in my dash, will changing the bulb color change the color of the gauges and will it change the trnasmission gauge too?

Saw your posting about changing the light colors in a dash board. It says you put red in will other colors come through?

Yes, other colors will show as well. At the store where I got my bulbs from there was a choice of red, blue, green, and amber. I was concerned at first about the contrast of my "red-line" indications, but they show up just fine. The only thing I can't see very well is the odometer, but I hardly care about that. When I still had clear bulbs in there I had the dimmer all the way down (I hate when it's real bright) and couldn't see it very well then, either. I usually have the dimmer up now, although on longer trips I'll still turn it down and can still see the gages real good. The only problem I have now is that I also put the red bulb in the tranny indicator, and it's a red indicator anyways, so you can't see red on red at night, but it's not like I need the indicator to tell me what gear it's in anyways...
