Identifying Help

Hello everyone! This piece somehow fell off when I was driving and I don't know exactly what the piece missing is called. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could possible tell me the name, so I can find somewhere that has one. My car is a 91 Firebird Base. Thanks

Re: Identifying Help

It's a passenger's side front fender ground effect. Be prepared to shell out a pretty penny as those were 2-year only parts and people KNOW this...

I used to have a '77 Monte Carlo and my Hooker headers fell off and I ran over them. Lifted the rear of the car up about a foot or so but didnt appear to damage the headers....yes, they were very loose before they fell off.

(and yes it was a very loud car)

Actually $269(for both) and free shipping if you buy from hawks on ebay. Not bad considering used oem was going for more just for 1 side.

FIRE, you are looking at $149 from hawks. I recommend buying them from ebay though because they offer free shipping. You will also need to have it painted to match your car.

Keep looking on ebay also as they sometimes are on there. Search for: 'Firebird ground effect'

I think this might be the most often broken/missing part on these cars....I've looked at dozens of 91-92s at the junkyards since 2005, and have yet to find one intact. I finally settled for one that had just the underside section torn off. Most of them are either missing, or torn off much higher up to where it's very obvious.

No, I meant what I said, I might be a noob, but I know a header from a muffler.

Fire was shooting out from the holes in the side of the heads and catching the spark plug wires on fire.

I was running open headers at the time, so there was no muffler involved...ending at the collector. They had become very, very loose, much looser than I had expected, and just fell off.

Sorry, didnt mean to hijack

I ordered a pair for my Trans Am a while back because mine were trashed. Fitment on the passenger side was good (which appears to be what you need anyway) but driver's side was so-so. However Hawks promised me that they'll said a new and improved one my way in a couple weeks free of charge. And I get to keep the old one.
