outer window felts & t-top molding help
Im fixing to find some of the outer window felts that go across the top of the door just wondering anyones opinons and places to buy.
also I wonder if you can but the strip that goes on the t top edge. I dont really know the exact term, but the rubber piece that gets old and sags eventually the window catches it. Does anyone make replacements for that?
Thanks , car is 89 iroc

www.rockauto.com is a good place to get the outer window sweeps. I think they were like 23 bucks per side

Re: outer window felts & t-top molding help
I bought my window sweeps in a set for inner and outer from 1a auto on ebay. Got a great deal, for inner and outers for just under $80.
I need the plastic drip edge on my t-tops also, so make sure to post up quality and price of where you got yours.

Re: outer window felts & t-top molding help
I have some pics of the rubber ones on my car. I have since gone to the plastic ones.
I switched to the plastic because I didn't like the way they sat onto the edge. The double faced tape doesn't hold that well, and there is a space there. It feels like they needed to be molded a bit better - like it is forcing itself away from the edge.
I don't have pics of the plastic ones, but I do like the way the rubber looks better then the plastic. The plastic ones have a cheap look to them - like an imitation of the real thing.

it is the outer sweeps, i bought some and they do fit very nice. As far as the screws, i would think any hardware store should have something that will work.

Re: outer window felts & t-top molding help
I will note that I got a FREE set of knockoff window sweeps/rubbers from a bud.
I will also note that all the holes lined up except for the last one.
I just re-drilled the last hole to match the door holes and they worked fine.

Re: outer window felts & t-top molding help
yea i think i had 1 hole that was off just a dick fuzz too. Just slott it a little and wa la.
Either way for anyone wondering, they are nice, no problem installing. Should be good to go for another 20+ years
For anyone wondering about the junk wheels and missing seats, etc. This car is still in process or reassembly after 3 years of tinkering off and on. From about day # 3 until now photos below.
The tires on the original wheels were dry rotted as this car had sat for a couple years. So before i painted it i put on junker wheels, dismounted tires from original wheels, stripped all the clear, blasted em and repainted and polished. They will go on prob sometime this spring.
