Overhead Console - Removing The Stupid Odometers

The title pretty much explains it. I have one in my '86 and want to take things a 'step up' for my TA.

I'm wondering how to remove the pointless 'reminder' odometers from the console without damaging the rest of the console.

Just to clarify a little: The plastic mounting tabs are what worry me. The only thing i can think of so far is to heat them up and pry off ... or bend them off, but either way I might damage the console.

My plans include replacing the odometers with swithces, but that's a separate post

I did it. I mounted a piece of metal with three switches. Just be careful and take your time. I used a glue gun to attach mine with no problems.
