Rear Wheel well rust???

I've got a bit of rear wheel well rust....It's all kinda caked on the back passenger side wheel well should I just sand it all down and ty to use fiber glass and lip it over so it looks as if nothing happened but could prolly tell up close.....or should I have a auto place do it and spend a couple of dollars to have them do it.....In the future maybe this year or next I plan on getting rid of a few rust spots and painting the whole car... Not myself though how much have you guys paid on paint jobs....I would be getting the original color it came with......

for a color change I paid $3300, you could take that down about $1000-1500 if you prep it yourself (also since you're stickin with the stock color, jambs are a P.I.T.A.)

Cloud, sounds like my rear quarter panel... rusting away... (sigh)

Check out http://www.por15.com for their POR-15 paint. I should've used that when I did my body work "way back when" to fix a previous owner's bad job. The rust I thought I killed came back with a vengence- and ate my quarter panel from underneath the paint. Soon I'll be welding a new one in.. (sigh)

Oh and when you prep- REGULAR PRIMER ISN'T WATERPROOF! It absorbs water, which causes the metal underneath to rust... (big sigh) I sanded that "new" rust away when I found out, but I guess it returned.

I did both of mine. The panels cost me $64 for both, than I welded them in myself.
